Action if objectionable songs played during Sarhul or Ramnavmi: DC

Ranchi: Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey held a high-level review meeting to asses the preparations for the upcoming festivals of Sarhul and Ramnavmi at the collectorate here in which apart from other administrative offices all police station officer in charges were present.

In the meeting, the DC asked the policemen to hold the meeting with the committees involved in Sarhul and Ramnavmi festival and take from them in writing that they would take out their procession in a fixed route. He said that if procession would be taken from another route than they would be facing action and warned that no objectionable songs should be played during the procession which might hurt the feelings of a particular community. 

The policemen have been also instructed to get the DJ owners to fill the bond stating that their equipment would be confiscated if they are caught playing objectionable songs and even action would be taken against the owner. Mr Rey said that the district administration will conduct video recording of the Sarhul and Ramnavmi procession and apart from videography in sensitive areas CCTV cameras will also be set up.

He said that during the period the intelligence network would also be strengthened and an eye would be maintained on the acts of anti-social elements. He said that it has to be ensured that mthe odel code of conduct is not violated during these two festivals.
