More than 53 lakh people fed through different community Kitchens operational in state

Ranchi: In this time of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the State government is providing every possible assistance to the people of Jharkhand who are within the state and those who stranded in other states and union territories due to lockdown.

People are facing lots of problems due to the extension of lockdown till 3 May. The government is committed to provide social security to the people of the state. Also, ration is been provided to every needy in this time of crisis so that no one in the state goes hungry.

The Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs department is  providing ration and food to the people under various schemes. As of now, food grains have been delivered to 1,61,622 people so far. Also, food grains have been made available to 1,93,801 people under the non PDS. So far 53,42,836 people have been fed under various schemes of Dal Bhatt Yojana. About 23,88,428 people have been fed by 856 NGOs and Volunteers. Moreover 1,58,298 migrant laborers are being fed in various relief camps set up by the government and emergency relief packets have been delivered to 42,326 needy people.

The state government is also trying to provide all possible assistance to the people of Jharkhand stranded in other states and union territories. According to the data received from the Department of Labor, Planning and Training, 5,82,481 migrant laborers have been reported stranded at 11,828 places. The government has made arrangements for fooding and lodging of 4,34,804 laborers stranded at 9,018 places. Complete information is also being collected from the people to provide every possible assistance from all level.

A "State Level Corona Control Room" (SLCCR) has been set up by the State government and a 24X7 toll free number 181 has been issued so that the people can contact for any kind of assistance and queries regarding Corona Virus (Covid-19).  As of now, total of 15,327 calls related to Covid-19 have been made in the SLCCR , out of which assistance has been provided in 10,121 cases. Every possible actions are been taken on the remaining matters. In the Corona control room, 6,991 complaints related to food supply, 743 related to law and order, 786 related to medical, 768 related to persons stranded in Jharkhand and 833 other complaints have been resolved.
