Saraikela -Kharsawan: Governor Draupadi Murmu on Sunday inaugurated at the 13 state-level archery meet which would be held in Arjuna Stadium of Kharsawan from January 27 to 30.
Speaking on the occasion she said that Jharkhand has made a name for itself in archery across the world and Dipika has made a name of Jharkhand at the international level. She said that there were no previous trends of organizing competitions which have now changed and said that in other sports also the players of the state have made a name for themselves. The Governor also lauded the role of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda and chairpersons of Sarikela district archery association Meera Munda for their initiatives to promote the sport of archery.
She said that the children of Jharkhand were full of talent and what was needed is to provide them with the correct opportunity. She asked the archery association to continue with their good work.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Arjun Munda said that Jharkhand has been associated with archery since the ancient era and
said that even the history has mention of tribals using bows and arrows. He said that with the help of national and international level coaches best training is being provided to the players, About 650 players are participating in this competition.
