Ranchi/Giridih: On the 7th day of nomination for the third phase of voting on 17 seats political heavyweights including former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi Urban Development Minister CP Singh filed their nominations.
Mr Marandi filed his nominations for the Dhanwar seat before the SDM of Khorimahua. On the same seat BJP nominee Laxman Prasad Singh and Independent candidate Anup Sonthalia also filed their nominations.
In Ranchi Urban Development Minister CP Singh filed his nominations before the Ranchi Sadar SDO and so did BJP nominee from Hatia seat Naveen Jaiswal.
In wake of the high profile nominations the district administration was in an alert mode since early morning. In the main gates of block A and B police was posted in large numbers.
Along with the vehicles of the common people those of the political parties was also not allowed in the parking area and they were returned from the main gate. It was Naveen Jaiswal who first reached the collectorate to file his nominations.
Talking to the press he said in the last 7.5 years he has done a lot for the development of his area however some work was still left which would be completed this time with the blessings of the people. On the other hand Minister C P Singh said that he did not believe in any challenges as he has done his work.
Not more than 5 people were being allowed in the collectorate and even the supporters were being stopped at the main gate.
Block A is the home for the Electoral officers of Hatia and Khijri and Block B is for Ranchi and Kanke. November 25 is the last date for filing of nominations for phase three. The scrutiny will take place on November 26, the candidates can withdraw their names till 28 while voting will take on December 12.
